Student Grant Available

2007 TSOP STUDENT GRANT PROGRAM, THE SPACKMAN AWARD
The Society for Organic Petrology (TSOP) invites applications for one or two graduate student research grants of up to US$1000 each. The purpose of the grants is to foster research in organic petrology (which includes coal petrology, kerogen petrology, organic geochemistry and related disciplines) by providing support to graduate students who demonstrate the utility and significance of organic petrology in solving the thesis problem.The Spackman Award supports qualified graduate students from around the world who are actively seeking advanced degrees. Each grant is to be applied to expenses directly related to the student''s thesis work such as summer fieldwork, laboratory expenses, etc. Grant application deadline is May 1, 2007.
